The Huon News is back for 2019

The first issue of the Huon News for 2019 has hit the streets, with Willie Smith's announcing a change of venue for the Mid-Winter Festival, the Hastings Caves Road sealing works getting underway and the Huonville Lions Senior Women's team getting their first training run.

The Huon News chats with Huon Valley PCYC president Bob Rolls about the future of the club, and we congratulate all the award winners at Huonville High School and St James Catholic College last year.

The one and only Tex Perkins heads down to the Huon Valley in February for the Huon Blues and Roots Festival, and we chat to him about his latest musical identity, while the excitement around the Cygnet Folk Festival coming up this weekend continues to grow.

In sport, both Jayden Clark from the Southern Tigers and Jordan Lovell from the Huonville Bulls racked up centuries in the A Grade limited overs matches on the weekend, and young Sam Voss from the Judbury Jets is heading off to Queensland to represent Tasmania in the Under 15 National Championships.

The Huon News is available all around the Huon Valley and beyond and by subscription online - don't miss all the local news this week.
