Saturday, April 15 brought people together from around the Huon Valley to celebrate family and community building at the Huon Valley Food Hub’s fourth event day of the Harvest Festival.

The next event in a series of town-focused workshops, Huonville’s day began with a farmers’ market and family-friendly event at the Huonville Library.

Growers from around the Huon were invited to sell their crops at the market in the library’s new community garden and seed library in order to increase both the knowledge and sales of locally grown produce for people in the Huon.

“Local growers and the local community are so happy to get around the farmers’ market events,” said Heather Sharpe, organiser of the Huon Valley Food Hub’s Harvest Festival.

“Everyone loves to get their hands on fresh produce and talk to growers while also enjoying a family-friendly space.”
