Coles is transforming its organic fresh produce offer as increased customer demands has prompted a near doubling in the volume and variety of organic fruit and vegetables in stores, all while removing 35 tonnes of plastic packaging.

To help service the increase in demand for organic produce, Coles is working closer than ever with existing farmers, such as local Esperance Bay Organic Wholesaler.

Over the past 12 months, Coles has experienced a 44 per cent increase in demand for organic produce in stores, including almost tripled for bananas (up 187 per cent), more than doubled for avocados (up 113 per cent) and broccoli (up 30 per cent).

To meet the growing demand, more varieties of fresh organics will be available through Coles’ partnership with more than 10 new Australian growers from across the country - in addition to Coles’ existing growers like Esperance Bay - who have the right growing conditions to supply customers with great organic produce all year round.
