Enders set to make history

With only a small number of preferences required to get her over the line, former Franklin Progress Association president and Franklin resident Bec Enders is set to become the first female mayor of the Huon Valley.  It appears she will be joined at the helm by Sally Doyle, business owner and the woman behind Geeveston Cares, who is poised to claim the position of deputy mayor.  The Huon News was at the tally room to keep up with all the latest numbers.

This week we also talked to Aboriginal Elder Rodney Dillon about the shameful numbers of indigenous children in out of home care at a screening of After the Apology.

Commissioner Adriana Taylor chaired her final council meeting for the Valley last Wednesday night, find out how it all went in this week's Huon News.

Our feature is the Great Huon Valley Festival - coming up in only two weeks!

Don't miss these and all the other local stories in this week's Huon News, available around the Huon Valley and beyond and by subscription online.
