The Taste of the Huon may have been on down the road, but it was Sunday’s Judbury Market which held the interest of the Huon Valley’s best zucchini growers.
Following on from last year’s successful ‘biggest pumpkin’ competition, this year the ‘biggest zucchini’ was added to proceedings.
The winner of the Inaugural Biggest Zucchini went to Tim and Jen Hensens of Yeastie Beastie Doughnuts, which weighed in at a whopping 6.92 kilograms.
Second was Ian (Hippy) Paul’s zucchini which weighed a respectable 5.84 kg.
The competition drew wide interest, and for those who want to see more giant fruit, the pumpkin competition is at the next market on Sunday, April 12.

Meg collected the prize for guessing how many chocolate eggs. Answer was 103 eggs.
