Exciting times at the Huon She Shed

The Huon She Shed has officially opened its doors, welcoming members to a hub of creativity, learning, and community connection.

Last week marked the Shed’s soft launch with a series of “Shed Smarts” safety sessions, which are an essential step for members before they can participate in project workshops or use the Shed’s machinery.

The sessions proved valuable, according to Huon She Shed President Mon Lulan.

“Our knowledgeable presenter offered machine inductions for the woodworking saws and shared plans to run workshops on making jigs,” said Mon.

“These jigs are a fantastic addition, making it significantly safer to use the table saw and other heavy equipment.”

The excitement ramped up last Sunday with the She Shed’s inaugural project workshop. Six enthusiastic members rolled up their sleeves to craft their very own tool caddies. The event was hailed as a resounding success, with all participants completing their projects and enjoying the camaraderie and creative atmosphere.

According to the Board, it was a rewarding day that showcased the Shed’s potential to inspire and empower its members.

Membership at the Huon She Shed offers much more than just access to tools and machinery.

With a diverse program of workshops, presentations, and social activities, there’s something for everyone.

Whether you’re eager to tackle your own project, learn new skills, or simply enjoy a cuppa and a friendly chat, the She Shed is a welcoming space for all.

Don’t miss out on the exciting 2024 program-join the Huon She Shed today!
