The Tasmanian Tourism Showcase held at Princes Wharf in Hobart on August 2 to 3 was a resounding success, bringing together over 80 businesses to celebrate the tourism sector of Tasmania.

The event featured a mix of industry networking and public engagement, highlighting the best of what Tasmania has to offer.

The Huon Valley was prominently represented, with several local operators making an impact on attendees.

Tahune Airwalk captivated visitors with its breathtaking treetop experiences, while Clifton Estate showcased its picturesque vineyard and premium wines, along with the Kiln Eatery.

Huon River Cruises offered glimpses into their serene river journeys, promising an unforgettable exploration of the valley’s natural beauty.

The event also saw strong participation from Huon Valley and Far South Tourism, who promoted the region’s unique local produce including tastings of Willie Smith’s Cider and Franks Cider, both demonstrating the high quality and distinct flavours of the Huon Valley.

“We gave away delicious tastes of the Huon, including mulled ciders, local apples, refreshing apple juice, and scrumptious star cookies,” shared Sharon Ireland.

“Attendees also received a treasure trove of maps, brochures, and recommendations to help uncover the unique experiences our Huon Valley & Far South has to offer.”

The industry day on August 2 featured a Student Futures Expo, connecting young Tasmanians with career and training opportunities in tourism and hospitality.

On August 3, the main event attracted a large number of visitors who enjoyed product tastings, discounted accommodation offers, new whisky releases, oyster shucking, and even friendly therapy alpacas.

“The Tasmanian Tourism Showcase is a celebration of Tasmania’s vibrant tourism sector,” said Destination Southern Tasmania CEO Alex Heroys.

The showcase not only provided unmatched exposure and networking opportunities for exhibitors but also inspired exploration and supported the growth of Tasmanian tourism businesses.
