The inaugural SFL Women in Football breakfast on Friday, June 9 was a resounding success, with an impressive turnout of 300 attendees at Wrest Point. The event aimed to celebrate the evergrowing field of female players in Tasmania, also providing the perfect opportunity for players inducted to the All-Stars Series games to be formally recognised and awarded their playing guernseys before games on Saturday, June 10 and a double-header on Monday, June 12.
Showcasing the growing popularity and recognition of women’s football in the community, SFL President David O’Byrne said that this event is an opportunity to acknowledge the past while also celebrating the bright future of women’s football.
