Image:  From left, Chairman of the Huon Valley Financial Services board Michael Lynch, one of the inaugural Huon Valley Financial Services board members Laurie Dillon and Senior Manager for Community Bank Huon Valley Tony Coulson cut the 20th-anniversary cake.

Monday, May 8, started the first of two celebrations for 20 years of Bendigo Community Bank in the Huon Valley, with staff and customers congregating at the Geeveston Bendigo Bank branch to begin celebrations.

Many familiar faces attended the anniversary, including those who began the first branches of Bendigo Bank not only in the Huon Valley, but in Tasmania.

Glenn Doyle, one of the initial founders of the Bendigo Bank branches in the Huon Valley, opened the ceremony before providing a brief history into Community Bank Huon Valley’s inception.

“The mind goes back to 2003, but the real story of Bendigo goes well beyond that,” Mr Doyle said.
