The new face of the dairy industry

Image: A Normande cow is part of the heritage breeds raised at Bruny Island Cheese Company’s Glen Huon Dairy Farm with animal welfare and deliberate farming in mind.

Bruny Island Cheese Company’s latest product aims to show the focus on sustainability and ethical dairies for the business.

Its newest addition to its online store, the Beef Box, provides a great insight into the farm’s work to create a new style of farming; one that is ethical, sustainable and tastes great.

In conjunction with its Glen Huon Dairy, Bruny Island Cheese has now grown its extensive offering to the meat industry, with the Beef Box including a wide variety of cuts, something that founder Nick Haddow has always wanted to be a part of his business.

“For those of us who eat meat, we’ve got some choices on what kind of farms we support and what kind of meat we choose to eat,” Mr Haddow stated.

“As a small-scale dairy farmer in southern Tasmania, everyday we are faced with loads of choices about how we manage our farm.

“To start with, we support rare breeds, we farm organically and animal welfare is our number one issue.”
