When Grade 2 Franklin Primary School student Jedd Burgess saw an ad on television for the Backpack Beds for Homeless and how much they can help the growing homeless population in Tasmania, he stepped up to fundraise.
Jedd brought the idea to his teacher who told him to write his idea in a letter to his principal.
Principal James Milne said he was surprised to have a student present a fundraising idea to him in a letter and immediately presented Jedd’s idea to the Student Representative Council (SRC).
