Big celebrations were held on Saturday, September 17 at the Baden Powell Scout Hall to mark 45 years of service in the Huon Valley for the Pensioners Association Huon Branch.
The group, who hope to address isolation and loneliness in the Huon region by creating opportunities to socialise, want to include more community members in their group and break down barriers for those who may want to attend.
“This group is not just for the current members, it is for all seniors, pensioners, people with disabilities and their carers, also single mums and dads that are on a pension,” said Huon PAT president Robert Staehr.
