Image: From left, Nick, Broden and Saila were all keen to get planting on National Tree Day.

National Tree Day on Friday, July 29 prompted some Huonville High School students to grow a green thumb for the day.

The Zayed Huon Energy Futures Team and the STEM group joined forces to plant out a shelter belt between both the high school and Huonville Primary School.

Despite some mediocre weather, students were happily coached along in the planting process, with Huon Valley Council’s (HVC) Natural Resource Management Coordinator Michelle Joy and Jess Lucas providing tools and plants for the National Tree Day planting event.
