The Huon Valley Food Hub took over the Huon Hub on Thursday, June 16 as part of the Stories and Visions Food Hub Exhibition.

The exhibition, while sharing the art and stories that have become a part of the Huon Valley Food Hub, was an opportunity to share information about upcoming activation projects in the Huon.

Food Hub Project Officer from the Huon Valley Council Dr Emily Samuels-Ballantyne said that new projects upcoming in the Huon Valley Food Hub sphere were exciting for the local community.

“This is a quiet time of year during the winter solstice, but we are looking forward to launching our new Food Hub projects after winter,” Dr Samuels Ballantyne stated.

“Something that I am seeing more and more as we move through the project is that people care about this place.

“People want to be involved and especially with food security being a topical issue right now, everyone wants to be involved to ensure a change in their community; it’s a social innovation project.”
