Local author part of a different kind of book

April 21, 2022
in Local News

Huon Valley author David Webby represents a new kind of published author in the publishing field, bringing a hybrid style to the Huon.

Mr Webby, author of children’s book The Misadventures of Harry & Larry – The Chosen Ones and upcoming novel The Misadventures of Harry and Larry: Path of the Way Show-ers is part of hybrid book publisher Shawline Publishing Group, who specialise in new and emerging Australian authors like Mr Webby.

Shawline Publishing Group, based in Ballarat, Victoria, centres around hybrid publishing, a less known third alternative to publishing works.

Another model of publishing includes 100 per cent self-publishing, where an author pays for all costs, including editing, design, illustration, printing, promotion, marketing and legal requirements, which can be very expensive and labourious and leave authors out of pocket a lot of money with no support to help recoup cost incurred while publishing.
