in Local News

The Harcourts Hilltop Hike raised an astonishing $47,500 on Saturday, April 9, with local organisations, businesses and community members rallying behind the worthwhile cause.

The fundraising event featured a two kilometre run or walk up Scenic Hill in Huonville, with over 40 participants on the day hiking for mental health awareness and suicide prevention charity Hope in the Huon.

Naming rights sponsor Harcourts Huon Valley was a dominant presence on the day, with representative Sophie Lovell thanking all of the sponsors and supporters for their fundraising efforts for the charity.

“This is an event that will hopefully continue for many years and it’s fantastic to see so much support from local people, businesses and organisations.”

Huon Valley Council Acting Mayor Sally Doyle also expressed her thanks for the fundraising efforts from the community, commenting that the event exhibited the Huon Valley’s growing resilience.
