Four thousand eight hundred and fifty two kilometres, $59,211, six pairs of shoes, 20 odd pairs of socks and one sore set of legs.
After seven months of trekking, Matthew Fennell has made one of the greatest hikes across Australia, venturing from Cape York in Queensland at the northern most point of Australia to South East Cape in the Huon Valley, the southern most point of Australia.
Yet, this adventure is one that is far closer to Mr Fennell’s heart and his own life that is in the name of suicide awareness and mental health.
“I believe that everyone’s life is worth living,” Mr Fennell expressed.
“This is the motivation behind my walk and why I named it ‘Cape to Cape for a life worth living’”.
