The Bicycle Network Tasmania launched its first Franklin Bike Day in collaboration with local community group Sisters on a Roll (SOAR) and the Huon Valley Council on Sunday, January 16, transforming the Franklin foreshore into a world of bikes.
Nicole Smith from the Huon Valley-based group SOAR said the day was designed for people who are interested in cycling and bikes to get to know each other in their local area.
“We really just want to get everyone together to bond over bikes and to meet people in their local area who share the same interests as them,” Ms Smith explained.
“Today is a friendly meet and greet for all of those who like cycling and we just want everyone to come down and see what the Valley has on offer.”
