The Geeveston Girl Guides celebrated 100 years of Guides at the Geeveston Town Hall on Sunday, November 28, with current and former Girl Guides and Guide Leaders invited for a centenary high tea.

The Geeveston Girl Guides officially opened in 1921 and the current Girl Guides and Leaders organised a display of history around the town hall, with previous uniforms, badges, Guide books and manuals as well as newspaper clippings and photos sharing the past story of Geeveston Guides with guests on the day.

Leaders of the Geeveston Hartz Guides and Geeveston Snowy Ranger Units, Ronita Ireland-Barratt and Vanessa Ireland gave an address on the day, welcoming special guests State Commissioner for Guiding in Tasmania Linda Durran, Huon Valley Council deputy mayor Sally Doyle and community liaison officer Michelle Churchill as well as past Girl Guides and Guide Leaders for their support of the Geeveston Girl Guides unit.
