November 11, 2021
in Local News

The Tasmanian Tourism Awards on Friday, November 5 showcased and awarded some of the best in Tasmania’s tourism industry, with Huon Valley business, Ashdowns of Dover, entering the Tasmanian Tourism Hall of Fame.

Ashdowns of Dover was awarded a gold in the Hosted Accommodation category at the awards night, the third award the accommodation has received at the last three Tourism Awards, resulting in Ashdown’s qualification into the Hall of Fame.

Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Sarah Courtney MP said that she is in awe of the resilience and determination shown by those in the tourism industry to overcome the challenges of the last 18 months.

“The quality of our attractions and our unique experiences is what sets us apart from the rest of the world, and what has truly cemented Tasmania as a premiere travel destination,” Minister Courtney stated.

“The feats of Pennicott Wilderness Journeys, Gordon River Cruises, MACq1 Hotel and Ashdowns of Dover to win gold and qualify for entry into the Tasmanian Tourism Hall of Fame must also be acknowledged.”
