Art in the church

by Huon News

in Local News

St John’s Church in Franklin doubled as an art gallery on Friday, October 1, with the October Art Exhibition.

The theme of reflections was the inspiration for artist’s works, with the majority of art displayed at St John’s coming from local artists, some of them

returning to the exhibition.

Naomie Clark-Port, owner of St Johns Church and Cemetery and the neighbouring Frank’s Cider, said that the art exhibition is a great opportunity to

raise awareness of the church and its story, as well as providing much needed funds for its restoration.

“It’s lovely to see people come in to this space and value the heritage and beauty of this space as well as the fantastic art that has been created by

local artists,” Ms Clark-Port expressed.
