Thursday, August 5, marked the winter open day for Scrubby Hill Farm, with the Family Food Patch and the Well Fed Tasmania Food Truck attracting hordes of locals.
Scrubby Hill, run by the Geeveston Community Centre, set about creating a family-friendly day to celebrate fresh, locally grown produce and highlighting the community aspect of the volunteer-run farm.
Scrubby Hill Farm Coordinator, Krystal Cox, said that the turn out of people had been great and opened the organisation to the wider community.
“A lot of people still don’t know about what we do here at Scrubby Hill and that they can volunteer for us,” replied Ms Cox.
